Tradeshow Week Names the Hartford Boat and Fishing Show Its Fastest Growing U.S. Show for 2007

Boating and Fishing Show Receives Top Honors At Industry Gala

LOS ANGELES, November 12, 2007 – Tradeshow Week (TSW), the global exhibition industry news magazine published by Reed Business Information, awarded the CMTA Hartford Boat and Fishing Show as the overall fastest-growing show at the 5th Annual Tradeshow Week Fastest 50 awards gala on November 3 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

At the awards gala, over 230 exhibition industry executives celebrated the fifty fastest-growing shows in North America announced last August. Growth is based upon percentage growth and net square footage of growth between 2004 and 2006. The following top awards were announced:

  • Top Overall Show & Top Consumer-Hybrid: CMTA Hartford Boast & Fishing Show
    Accepted by Executive Director Grant Westerson, CMTA grew from 68,000 net sq. ft. and 110 exhibitors to 155,000 net sq. ft. and 200 exhibitors.
  • Top Trade Show: INTERPHEX Puerto Rico
    Accepted by Kevin Richards, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions’ life sciences group, the show grew by 392.7 percent from 8,576 net sq. ft. and 127 exhibitors to 42,250 net sq. ft. and 289 exhibitors.
  • Top Association Show: InfoComm International
    Accepted by InfoComm’s Michael Doolittle, the show grew from 319,860 net sq. ft. and 647 exhibitors to 432,602 net sq. ft. and 770 exhibitors.

Hosted by the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the 5th Annual TSW Fastest 50 gathered top-tier industry leaders for a celebration weekend that also included an opening night reception at the World of Coca-Cola, a conference at the Georgia World Congress Center, and brunch at the Georgia Aquarium.
