CONNECTICUT CONVENTION CENTER NAMES NEW COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

HARTFORD, CT (December 7, 2012) – The Connecticut Convention Center recently named Amanda Schoonmaker as its new Communications Manager. In her role, Amanda will primarily be responsible for significantly increasing awareness of the Convention Center within the region through a professional and comprehensive communications and public relations plan.  She will also act as the communications liaison to the community, while planning, executing and coordinating events designed to maintain and enhance awareness of the venue.

Amanda joined the Convention Center in June 2010 as a Sales Coordinator and quickly was promoted to Catering Sales Manager in February 2011.  She holds Master and Bachelor Degrees in Communication from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT.

 “Over the past two years, Amanda has built strong relationships with our clients,” says Michael Costelli, General Manager of the Convention Center.  “With her background, professionalism and work ethic, we are confident that she will excel in this new role.”
