Back to Press

HARTFORD, CT (February 4, 2013) – The Connecticut Convention Center donated $1,250.00 to The Open Hearth, a temporary residential community serving homeless men in Greater Hartford.  The organization has been assisting local men since 1884 by offering employment training, transitional life skills classes, and job placement with business in the Hartford area, including the Convention Center.

Marilyn E. Rossetti, Executive Director of The Open Hearth accepted the donation.  “Many of our men have been able to get back on their feet by working at the Convention Center,” explained Rossetti.  “This donation is yet another testament to the wonderful partnership we have together.”

The donation was made on behalf of voluntary contributions from more than 200 associates at the Convention Center as part of the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation, a private foundation that seeks to support the communities in which associates of Waterford Group and its affiliates live and work.  This includes Waterford Venue Services, which manages the Connecticut Convention Center.
