DESCRIPTION:The Induction Ceremony is the signature program of the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame\, where they bring their mission to life. From its inception in 1994\, the Ceremony has been a forum for women to gather\, share stories and celebrate the achievements of exceptional women who have paved the way for the current generation to enjoy freedoms and choices unheard of even a few decades ago. While they induct several living women into the Hall each year\, they also place heavy emphasis on uncovering the stories of extraordinary women and their accomplishments\, stories that heretofore have received little or no recognition. In the early years\, they concentrated on honoring women who were firsts in their fields\, and today celebrate the fact that “firsts” is a shrinking criteria for induction as women move toward more equal participation in society.
