Connecticut Convention Center Names Devon Woodstock Associate of the Year For 2008

Windsor Resident, Culinary Team Associate, Performs Flawlessly, Inspires Others

HARTFORD, CT –Devon Woodstock of Windsor has been named the Connecticut Convention Center’s 2008 Associate of the Year.

A three-year associate, Devon received the honor before more than 200 colleagues at the convention center’s annual Associate Appreciation Celebration. He had previously been recognized as the Center’s Associate of the Month in June.

“Devon does it all,” says his supervisor, Sous Chef Marshall Lewis. “He does anything asked of him and excels in all he does.”

The distinction makes Devon eligible for recognition by the Waterford Hotel Group. The Connecticut Convention Center is privately managed by Waterford Venue Services, an affiliate of Waterford Hotel Group.

According to Executive Chef Roger Morgan, Devon is a committed, passionate member of the convention center’s culinary team.

“He performs flawlessly in any task assigned to him,” Chef Morgan said. “He is dedicated to his job from start to finish and because of his dedication, others are inspired to work at the Connecticut Convention Center.”

In 2008, Devon was among a handful of associates chosen to help Waterford Hotel Group transition ownership of a new hotel property in Trenton, New Jersey. He drove 15 hours in traffic, worked the weekend in New Jersey as part of a culinary task force, and then came back to work the next Monday morning at the convention center.

Devon is active with his church and frequently provides catering services for his congregation. He is also a former boxer from the Hartford area.
