40th Anniversary Show Features New Boat Packages As Low as $149/Month

HARTFORD, CT – When the economy gets tough, the tough will go fishing – and boating – close to home, local marine experts predict for the 2009 vacation season.

That’s why the Connecticut Marine Trades Association will feature the most affordable boats in the market this year, at the Hartford Boat & Fishing Show, Jan. 22-25 at the Connecticut Convention Center.

“We’re highlighting packages for as little as $149 a month, or even lower,” said Grant Westerson, CMTA’s executive director. “That’s an extremely affordable investment for years of boating and fishing down the road. In this economic climate, that’s the best deal I can imagine.”

In a special “Let’s Go Boating” pavilion, complete boat, trailer and motor packages will be displayed without the pressure of salespeople. Every package in the display will be available for $199-$149 per month, but some will be available for even less.

In addition, a special 40th Anniversary discount of 2% will be offered on any new boat purchased at the show, organizers said. And anyone who takes delivery of a boat will be entered into a special anniversary drawing for a $1,000 gift certificate, redeemable with any exhibitor on display at the show.

• More than 300 boats will be on display in the CTCC’s 140,000 square foot exhibit hall
• Boating enthusiasts will find more than 125 exhibit booths in the center’s grand ballroom
• Educational seminars will run all day Saturday and Sunday with boating and fishing experts, including Charlie Soars, Kerry Doughton and Bruce Millar

Admission is: $12.00
Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Friday, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
