CONNECTICUT CONVENTION CENTER PREPARES TO TAKE NATIONAL STAGE WITH ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS

Hartford, CT (July 2, 2013) –  This week as the country readies for cookouts and firework shows, the staff at the Connecticut Convention Center prepares for boxing and birthday celebrations.  The Center will host “50 Cent’s Birthday Bash” which will air live on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights on Friday, July 5.

The event is the first solo venture by 50 Cent’s SMS Promotions and features a full fight card including local boxers from Hartford and New Haven.  The main event will feature light heavyweights Eleider Alvarez and Allan Green.  Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the fights will begin at 7 p.m.

“We are very excited to host 50 Cent’s Birthday Bash,” says Michael Costelli, General Manager for the Connecticut Convention Center.   “An event like this allows us to showcase the versatility of the facility.”

Following the bouts, fans will continue the excitement and celebrate 50’s birthday along with special invited guest celebrities at the Connecticut Convention Center. “Not only are we creating a boxing arena, but our exhibit halls will also be transformed to make party-goers feel as though they have stepped into a night club,” explains Costelli.  The after party runs from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will be hosted by Tatted Up Holly with music by 93.7 DJ Craig G.

Tickets for the fights are available by calling the Connecticut Convention Center at 860-728-2624 or Mike Criscio at 203-627-7472.  Tickets are priced at $150.00 for Ringside, $100.00 for Preferred Seating, $60.00 for Reserved Seating.  General Admission tickets are SOLD OUT.   A $150.00 or $100.00 fight ticket entitles the bearer to free admission to the post-fight party.  Tickets for the after party are being sold separately for $40.00 through the Connecticut Convention Center (860-728-2624).  Please note there is a 10% surcharge charge will be added for all purchases made with a credit card.
