HARTFORD, CT (October 23, 2013) – The Connecticut Convention Center donated $2,000.00 to the Connecticut Department of Veteran’s Affairs.  The donation was made on behalf of voluntary contributions from more than 200 associates at the Convention Center as part of the Waterford Group Charitable Foundation, a private foundation that seeks to support the communities in which associates of Waterford Group and its affiliates live and work.  This includes Waterford Venue Services, which manages the Connecticut Convention Center.

The donation had a personal connection with one of the Center’s employees, whose brother is currently deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom serving in the United States Air Force.

“Having services that assist our troops when they come home is something she feels strongly about,” stated Michael Costelli, General Manager for the Connecticut Convention Center.  “We thought this was a worthy cause to support and felt the programs offered by the Connecticut Department of Veteran’s Affairs made the organization an appropriate selection for our donation.”
